Pull the full transcript of any public YouTube video — a lecture, a podcast, a conference talk, a competitor's webinar — and turn it into a summary you can actually use. It runs on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to us, and nothing is stored here.
This one is not a browser calculator like our other free tools. It is a plug-in that runs inside Claude Cowork on your own machine, which is what makes it free and private — but it does mean there are four things you need.
If you do not have all four, this tool is not for you today — and we would rather tell you now than after the download. Our browser-based calculators need none of it.
Four things, and it is honest about the fourth.
Paste a full YouTube link, a youtu.be short link, a Shorts or embed URL, or just the 11-character video ID. Tracking parameters are stripped automatically — an unremoved &si= is the usual cause of an unexplained "video not found".
It reads the video's own caption track through the official YouTube Data API. That is the publisher's text, not a guess from audio.
Claude reads the transcript and gives you the argument — what the speaker claims and why — rather than a list of topics covered.
The transcript is written to a folder on your own disk. It is never uploaded to Obizworks, and we run no server in this path at all.

Download the file above and install it in Claude Cowork. It carries one skill, video-transcript, and nothing else.
Run the setup with -SaveKey and paste your YouTube Data API key at a hidden prompt. It is encrypted to your Windows account and never written to a file, a script, or a chat message.

Because it is a small, honest piece of the thing we actually sell.
The credential never touches a file. Every run is written to an append-only audit log. The source is named, and the output is traceable back to it. That is the same discipline we apply to an agent handling a client's invoices — just on a much smaller job.
We could not host this even if we wanted to, because YouTube blocks datacentre addresses. So it runs where the work belongs — on your machine, with your key, under your control. A lot of good architecture starts as a constraint somebody refused to paper over.

What you may do with the output: a transcript is source material, not publishable content. Summarise and analyse it in your own words; quote briefly with attribution where the exact wording matters. Do not republish passages. That is ordinary copyright sense, and it is the rule we hold ourselves to.
